The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has extended the deadline for senior citizens to apply for quarterly income tax refunds for the 2023/2024 assessment year.
The extension, now valid until 30th of June 2025, was granted following numerous requests from elderly taxpayers, as stated by the Commissioner General of Inland Revenue.
Previously, the deadline was outlined in Circular No. SEC/2023/E/06, dated 25th of September 2023.
Senior citizens can receive assistance and submit their applications every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at their respective regional IRD offices.
If Wednesday is a public holiday, services will be offered on the following Thursday, and visitors are advised to arrive before 4:15 p.m. to ensure timely processing.
The IRD urged all eligible senior citizens to take advantage of the extended timeframe and submit their claims within the new deadline.
