

Colts Cricket Club were crowned Premier League cricket champions after overcoming a highly challenging and testing domestic season to win the First Class inter-club title in their 150th year of existence.

The team faced numerous on-field and off-field challenges throughout the campaign but managed to stay focused and deliver strong performances when it mattered most.
Former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews, who played a key role in the season, said the team “fought against all odds,” highlighting the resilience and unity within the squad.
Despite having a relatively modest lineup compared to more star-studded teams, Colts relied on teamwork, discipline, and strong leadership from their coaching staff to achieve success.
Dinesh Chandimal delivered a match-defining performance in the final against Nondescripts Cricket Club, scoring a brilliant 144 as Colts chased a challenging target of 431.
He was well supported by Sanoj Dharshika, who contributed an unbeaten century, helping Colts secure a memorable victory in a tense contest.
Chandimal’s innings was widely praised, reinforcing his value as a top-class batter capable of performing at the highest level in domestic cricket.
Under coach Anil Rideegammanagedera, Colts adopted a disciplined approach, focusing on playing one match at a time and maintaining emotional control throughout the tournament.
The success was built on strong all-round contributions, with players like Muditha Lakshan, Akila Dananjaya, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Sangeeth Cooray, Kavishka Anjula, and others playing important roles.
With this collective effort, Colts Cricket Club emerged as one of the strongest teams of the season, setting a new benchmark in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
