SEC warns public: Gladius South Asia operating without license

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) has announced that “Gladius South Asia” is not licensed to operate as a market participant in Sri Lanka or any foreign jurisdiction.

In a statement issued on ‘X’, the SEC clarified that it does not regulate or issue licenses for entities operating outside Sri Lanka.

The Commission noted that Gladius South Asia has, in some cases, informed clients that it is licensed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom. However, the FCA has officially confirmed to the SEC that Gladius South Asia is not a registered or authorized entity under its supervision.

Accordingly, the SEC advised the public that all financial services activities carried out in the United Kingdom must be authorized or registered by the FCA, and urged investors to exercise caution when dealing with unregulated entities.
