Sanga & Mahela Support ‘Clean Sri Lanka’

Sri Lanka cricket legends Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara voiced their support for the government’s ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative, calling it a pivotal move for national progress.

The program, launched today at the Presidential Secretariat under President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s patronage, focuses on promoting cleanliness and sustainable practices.

Mahela emphasized the importance of public involvement, stating, “As citizens, we have a great responsibility to take this project forward. This is a great start, and there’s much to do.”

Kumar Sangakkara highlighted the initiative as a timely effort to unite political and administrative sectors while encouraging a shift in societal values.

He remarked that the program holds deeper meaning, noting, “This initiative is crucial for the development of the country as well as its citizens. Real change will happen when everyone becomes part of this transformation.”

Both icons urged collective action, stressing that the government alone cannot achieve the program’s goals.
