Sabre appoints Chandana De Silva as Sri Lanka country head

Sabre, a leading global travel technology company, has appointed aviation veteran Chandana De Silva as its Country Head for Sri Lanka, strengthening its leadership presence in the local aviation and travel sector.

With more than three decades of experience in airline commercial strategy, sales management, and operations, De Silva brings extensive industry expertise to his new role. Sabre operates in Sri Lanka as a subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings PLC, based in Colombo, supporting the growing demand for advanced GDS and NDC technologies in the region.

De Silva previously held several senior positions at SriLankan Airlines before serving as Country Manager for Emirates Airlines in Sri Lanka and the Maldives from 2008 to 2023. He also worked as Government Liaison Manager for Emirates in both markets, where he led market expansion initiatives and strengthened key stakeholder relationships.

His broad experience with major international carriers provides valuable insight into South Asian aviation dynamics and regional travel trends.

Operating from its Colombo hub, Sabre continues to focus on enhancing global distribution services, seamless NDC integration, and dedicated support for local travel agencies.

Under De Silva’s leadership, the company aims to accelerate the adoption of automation solutions, improve operational efficiency, and raise service standards across the travel ecosystem.

The appointment aligns with Sabre’s wider South Asia growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to empowering travel partners while expanding its footprint in Sri Lanka’s evolving aviation market.
