United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene today expressed gratitude to political leaders from across the spectrum who rallied in support of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Speaking to the media after attending proceedings at the Fort Magistrate’s Court, he said, “I would like to thank everyone who came forward to support Ranil Wickremesinghe. We are especially grateful to the opposition leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and other party leaders who stood with us to safeguard democracy.”
He further acknowledged the support of political rivals, including Namal Rajapaksa and his team from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, as well as former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Maithripala Sirisena.
