The Russian Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) has announced that the Enteromix cancer vaccine is now ready for clinical use.
FMBA head Veronica Skvortsova stated that the mRNA-based vaccine successfully completed preclinical trials, proving both its safety and high effectiveness.
According to the agency, the vaccine demonstrated significant results in shrinking tumors and slowing their growth, while also being safe for repeated use.
Skvortsova explained that the vaccine will be personalized for each patient, tailored to their unique RNA profile.
The first version of the vaccine will be used to treat colorectal cancer, while additional versions are being developed to target glioblastoma — an aggressive form of brain cancer — as well as specific types of melanoma, a skin cancer.
