Russian deputy foreign minister Andrey Rudenko visits Sri Lanka for talks

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has arrived in Sri Lanka on an official visit.

He was warmly received by Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, upon his arrival.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, the visit is aimed at participating in the 11th session of Bilateral Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and Russia, scheduled to take place on Thursday at the ministry.

The meeting will include senior officials from both countries and will focus on strengthening cooperation in key areas such as economics, politics, culture, trade, and tourism.

Andrey Rudenko, who is responsible for the Asia-Pacific region, is expected to conclude his visit and depart Sri Lanka on April 4.

This visit follows a recent mission by a Russian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Marshavin, who visited Sri Lanka earlier and held several rounds of bilateral discussions before departing on March 28.
