The Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation has announced plans to renovate the Colombo Fort Railway Station at a cost of Rs. 1.3 billion, with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
According to the Ministry, tenders have already been called for the project, which is expected to be completed within 15 months.
The renovation aims to transform the historic station into a modern transport hub with upgraded facilities. Development work is scheduled to commence by the end of this year.
