The 40-year-old leapt high in the centre of the penalty area to meet Nawaf Boushal’s right-wing cross, scoring in the sixth minute of stoppage time at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.
The strike marked the 954th goal of his career and drew comparisons to his famous bicycle kick for Real Madrid against Juventus in the 2018 Champions League quarter-final.
Ronaldo, the Portugal captain, also netted an overhead kick against Poland in the UEFA Nations League in November 2024.
