The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of retired Commodore M.B.N.A. Premarathne as the new Commissioner General of Excise.
This appointment follows the scheduled retirement of the current Commissioner, U.L. Udaya Kumara Perera, on 10th of July 2025.
Udaya Kumara Perera, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Inland Revenue Service, will retire from public service upon reaching the age of 60.
The proposal for Premarathne’s appointment was submitted by the President in his capacity as Minister of Finance.
