The Road Development Authority (RDA) has initiated a project to install safety fences along dangerous embankment points in three mountainous districts, following a recent increase in road accidents.
According to K. Chandrakumara, Deputy Director General of the RDA’s Road Safety and Traffic Management Division, the first phase of the project will focus on the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces.
Under this plan, iron safety fences spanning approximately 50 kilometers will be constructed in identified high-risk zones across the three districts to enhance road safety.
