Ravi Karunanayake has sharply criticized the current composition of the United National Party’s working committee, claiming that “devil’s children” have been allowed into key positions while experienced senior members have been sidelined.

Speaking at a media briefing, Karunanayake said the UNP and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya should reunite to ensure the political survival and future success of both parties and their members.

He stressed that a united opposition would be stronger and better positioned to face future political challenges, while also serving the interests of their supporters.

Despite his criticism, Karunanayake expressed confidence that the UNP and SJB would eventually come together under their current leadership.

He said such a partnership could help both parties regain strength and rebuild their influence in Sri Lankan politics.

The remarks have reignited discussions about a possible alliance between the UNP and SJB as opposition parties seek to consolidate their political base ahead of future elections.
