Ranil Jayawardena, a Sri Lankan-born resident of Britain, has been awarded a knighthood by King Charles.
From now on, he will be addressed as “Sir Ranil Jayawardena.”
A former member of the British Conservative Party and a government minister, Jayawardena had a significant career in public service.
However, he did not secure the Hampshire seat he previously represented in the last general election.
Despite this, his contributions as a public representative have been recognized with this honor.
At 38 years old, Sir Ranil Malcolm Jayawardena previously served as the Conservative MP for Northeast Hampshire from 2015 to 2024.
