A sum of Rs. 1 million will be granted from the President’s Fund for each individual who lost their life in the tragic Kotmale bus accident, following a directive from President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The accident occurred early this morning ( 11th of May) in the Garadiella area of Kotmale, resulting in multiple fatalities.
The President has instructed officials to ensure that the funds are promptly disbursed to the next of kin of the deceased.
In addition to this financial support, further compensation will be provided to the affected families through the Sri Lanka Transport Board and applicable insurance schemes.
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation and provide support to all those impacted by the tragedy.
