President reviews progress of key urban development projects

A progress review meeting on urban development, construction, and housing projects was held at the Presidential Secretariat under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The discussions focused on enhancing Sri Lanka’s appeal as a tourist destination through urban development, improving canal purification, solid waste management in the Colombo District, implementing water supply initiatives, and expanding housing assistance programs, according to the President’s Media Division.

President Dissanayake instructed officials to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects without delays.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing Anura Karunathilaka, Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardana, Urban Development Ministry Secretary Ranjith Ariyaratne, Senior Additional Secretaries to the President Russell Aponsu and Kapila Janaka Bandara, and other senior officials from relevant ministries.
