President offers condolences at vatican over Pope Francis

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Vatican Embassy yesterday to offer his condolences on the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis.


He was warmly received by the Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka, Most Reverend Archbishop Brian N. Udaigwe.


Following a brief discussion with Archbishop Udaigwe, the President signed the book of condolence.


On behalf of the Government and the people of Sri Lanka, President Dissanayake expressed heartfelt sympathies to the global Christian community over the loss of Pope Francis.
