
The inauguration ceremony for the renovation of the Pettah Central Bus Stand officially commenced this morning (15th) under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
This long-awaited initiative marks the first major upgrade to the facility since its construction in 1964, with an estimated cost of Rs. 424 million.
The renovation project will introduce modern facilities such as new restrooms, information and communication stations, enhanced security systems, and other infrastructure improvements to enhance passenger convenience and safety.
The inauguration was broadcast live for the public to witness.
