
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake held a discussion today (27th) at the Presidential Secretariat with senior officials of the Sri Lanka Air Force regarding the country’s current security situation.
The meeting focused on future security strategies, particularly the development of the Sri Lanka Air Force as a maritime security force within the Indian Ocean region.
Discussions also covered the Air Force’s role in supporting operations conducted by the Sri Lanka Army and Navy.
Additionally, budgetary allocations for the Air Force in the latest national budget and the force’s current requirements were reviewed.
The discussion was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekara, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, and other senior Air Force officials.
