A meeting between the Spiritual Leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb, and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake was held yesterday afternoon (10) at the Presidential Secretariat.
During the discussions, His Holiness commended the government’s programmes aimed at achieving social and economic transformation in Sri Lanka and praised initiatives to combat illicit drugs, fraud, and corruption, while extending his blessings for these efforts. He also highlighted the long-standing ties between the Dawoodi Bohra community in Sri Lanka and other communities, as well as the community’s contribution to the national economy.
President Dissanayake expressed his appreciation for the Spiritual Leader’s visit to the country and welcomed continued engagement. Several leaders and representatives of the Dawoodi Bohra community attended the meeting, along with Deputy Speaker Rizvie Salih and Western Province Governor Hanif Yusoof representing the Government of Sri Lanka.
