A discussion was held between trade unions affiliated with the National Trade Union Center and the President regarding the upcoming budget and the government’s economic policies.
The meeting took place at Temple Trees yesterday (29th), with several trade union representatives from the National Trade Union Centre in attendance.
National People’s Power (NPP) MP Chandana Sooriyaarachchi stated that the discussion focused on the government’s economic program and potential relief measures for government employees in the upcoming budget.
He further noted that trade union representatives suggested increasing the basic salary as a more effective measure instead of offering short-term relief to government employees.
