
A bilateral meeting between Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Emmanuel Macron was held yesterday afternoon (19) on the sidelines of the AI Impact 2026 Summit in New Delhi.
During the discussion, the two Heads of State exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of technology, digital innovation and sustainable development. They also reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing relations between Sri Lanka and France.
President Dissanayake also met with Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, with talks focusing on expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest and strengthening longstanding friendly ties between the two countries.
In addition, the President held discussions with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The meeting centred on enhancing economic collaboration, attracting investment and exploring new opportunities in emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence.
A separate bilateral discussion was also held between President Dissanayake and Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, further broadening Sri Lanka’s diplomatic engagement at the summit.
