President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk ahead of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The meeting was held yesterday at the Human Rights Council Chamber of the UN Secretariat in the United States.
During the discussions, President Dissanayake reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to engaging on human rights issues. He was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath.
The President is currently in the United States to attend the 80th session of the UNGA.
