
The Jaffna Regional Office of the Department of Immigration and Emigration was declared open today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The new office, situated within the Jaffna District Secretariat premises, is fully equipped with modern technology and facilities. With the number of passport applications in the Northern Province steadily increasing, the office is expected to provide a more accessible and efficient service to the public.
To mark the commencement of services in Jaffna, three passports were officially issued today.
Addressing state officials at the Jaffna District Secretariat auditorium, President Dissanayake stressed that political leaders and public officials must work in close cooperation to meet the expectations of the people.
Meanwhile, construction of the new international cricket stadium in Jaffna was also inaugurated this afternoon under the President’s patronage.
