
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake arrived at Beijing International Airport this morning for his four-day state visit to China.
The President, who departed Sri Lanka last night at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, landed at 10:25 a.m. local time.
He was welcomed with a grand ceremony by the Chinese Army, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong.
During the visit, which runs from 14th to 17th of January, President Dissanayake is scheduled to hold discussions with President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang.
Key topics are expected to include bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors.
The Sri Lankan delegation accompanying the President includes Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath, Transport and Highways Minister Bimal Ratnayake, and Government Information Director General H.S.K. J. Bandara.
