
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the 20th “Build SL Housing and Construction International Exhibition” organized by the Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka (CCI) on the morning of 31st of May.
The Build SL Exhibition, Sri Lanka’s premier housing and construction event, began on May 30 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre at BMICH, Colombo, and will conclude on June 1.
Featuring around 280 display stalls, the exhibition serves as a hub for industry stakeholders to network, explore business opportunities, and learn about cutting-edge designs and technologies.
Over 30,000 attendees are expected this year, with a wide array of international vendors offering products and services.
A key highlight of the exhibition is its focus on internationally recognized eco-friendly building materials.
During his visit, President Dissanayake toured the stalls, engaged with exhibitors, and interacted warmly with visitors.
He also presented tokens of appreciation to sponsoring institutions in recognition of their contributions to the event.
The event was attended by several key figures including Urban Development Secretary Ranjith Ariyaratne, CCI Chairman Jayantha Perera, CEO Eng. Col. (Rtd) Nissanka N. Wijeratne, and Deshamanya Dr. Surath Wickramasinghe, the founding Chairman of the CCI.
Sponsors and representatives from leading companies, including Mr. N. Sathish Raja of Colonial Engineering Pvt Ltd, were also present.
The exhibition continues to strengthen the construction industry’s role in Sri Lanka’s economic development.
