Politician fined for cocaine distribution

South Australian Liberal Party leader David Spears has been fined for supplying cocaine to two individuals.

He was ordered to pay a $9,000 fine after appearing in the Adelaide Magistrates Court.

Spears, 40, was accused of distributing cocaine to friends since August 2024.

He resigned as opposition leader in August after pleading guilty to the charges.

Spears later stepped down from parliament in October following the incident.
