Police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an incident in Arugam Bay, where a foreign woman reported an attempted sexual assault.
According to police, the woman posted a video online showing the suspect engaging in indecent sexual behaviour. The footage prompted the Pottuvil Police to launch an investigation into the incident, which reportedly occurred on the 25th.
Police have requested anyone with information about the suspect to contact the Pottuvil Police Station at 063 2248022 or the Officer-in-Charge at 071 8591168.
