Victoria Police have launched an investigation into an alleged assault at Melbourne’s Camp Sovereignty protest site.

A 37-year-old person suffered facial injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night at the long-running First Nations protest camp.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.

Camp organisers say the attack has left members of the community shaken and concerned about safety.

Authorities have not made any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
