The Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to the police constable accused of assaulting a lawyer near the court premises. Bail was approved with two surety bonds of LKR 100,000 each.
The case has also been referred to the Mediation Board, and court proceedings have been adjourned until 14thof November .
The police constable was arrested on 10th of October 2025, by the Mount Lavinia Police and remanded until October 13, following the incident that occurred while a lawyer’s car was being removed from the court premises.
