Police constable arrested after abusing three women at parlour

A police constable was injured after falling while attempting to flee the scene of an alleged sexual assault at a massage parlour in Borella.

According to police, the suspect was among two men who forcibly entered the establishment, intimidated the manager and four female employees, and allegedly sexually abused three of the women.

The constable fell from an upper floor during his escape and was subsequently arrested. He is now receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Colombo, under police guard. The suspect is a serving officer attached to the Police Special Bureau Headquarters.

The second suspect, who remains at large, has been identified as a former police constable who was previously dismissed from the service.

Investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Borella Police together with the Colombo South Crime Investigation Division.
