PM’s office sets up internal affairs unit to ensure corruption-free public service

The Prime Minister’s Office has officially established an Internal Affairs Unit at Temple Trees under the leadership of PM’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, following Circular No. PS/SB/Circular/2/2025 issued by the Secretary to the President.

Additional Secretary (Administration) Ruwan Jayasundara has been appointed Head of the Unit, with Administrative Officer K.A.S. Shripali named Compliance Officer.

The Unit aims to uphold integrity among officials and ensure a corruption-free public service. It will implement robust anti-corruption measures aligned with the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2023, and the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (2025–2029), under Article 156 of the Constitution.

Key functions include preventing corruption, promoting transparency and ethical governance, encouraging whistleblowing, ensuring confidentiality, and supporting law enforcement and the Bribery Commission.

To facilitate public engagement, complaint boxes have been placed at Temple Trees and the PM’s Office in Sirimathipaya. Citizens can also submit complaints via WhatsApp (0711130898), phone (0114354754), or email (iau@pmoffice.gov.lk).
