Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees, the Prime Minister’s Office announced.

The meeting was also attended by Rev. Monsignor Roberto Lucchini, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Holy See in Colombo, and Rev. Monsignor Tomislav Zubac, Second Secretary of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See.

Archbishop Gallagher arrived in Sri Lanka on Sunday and will remain in the country until November 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed.

During his stay, Archbishop Gallagher is scheduled to call on President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and deliver an address at a special event celebrating the milestone in Colombo.

The programme will also include visits to sites of cultural and religious importance, including churches affected by the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, the Ministry added.
