
A plane carrying 67 people, including passengers and crew, has crashed in Kazakhstan.
The BBC reports that an Azerbaijani passenger plane crashed near the city of Akta in Kazakhstan.
According to reports, the aircraft, an Embraer 190, was en route from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Russia.
The government of Kazakhstan states that 25 people survived the crash, with 22 of them hospitalized.
A fire erupted upon the plane’s impact but was quickly brought under control.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
The aircraft had 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board.
It is suspected that approximately 40 people lost their lives in the incident.
