A 63-year-old pilot has died after a light aircraft crashed in the Northern Territory yesterday around 10:20 am.
The plane went down in Fog Dam, a wetland located 67 kilometers southwest of Darwin, known for its high crocodile population.
There were two people on board the aircraft at the time of the crash, including a 29-year-old woman who managed to survive.
Emergency services, including the Police Search and Rescue Unit and a CareFlight helicopter, were dispatched to the scene.
The pilot was found deceased in the wreckage, while CareFlight teams rescued the injured woman and transported her to the hospital.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash as recovery efforts in the crocodile-infested area continue.
