The U.S. Embassy in Colombo has announced that passport and visa services will continue both in the United States and at U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad despite the lapse in government appropriations.
In its statement, the embassy said that only urgent safety and security updates will be shared until normal operations resume.
It further advised the public to visit the U.S. State Department’s official website, travel.state.gov, for the latest information on consular services and operating status.
