A man has been banned from all Qantas flights after allegedly biting a crew member during a flight from Melbourne to Dallas, which forced the aircraft to divert to Tahiti.

The flight was rerouted to Papeete, where local authorities boarded the aircraft and arrested the passenger before the journey could continue.
After refuelling, the aircraft was able to resume its trip and continue on to Dallas, while the passenger was later banned from all Qantas Group services, including Jetstar.
Parts of the incident were recorded by comedian Mike Goldstein, who was also on board, and later shared the footage on social media.
The video showed the passenger emerging from a bathroom, behaving disruptively, and arguing with flight attendants while appearing disoriented and using offensive language.
Crew members can be heard instructing the passenger to calm down and comply with safety directions, while other passengers were reportedly disturbed by his behaviour.
Reports on social media claimed the passenger bit a crew member, although this allegation has not been officially confirmed by the airline or authorities.
A Qantas spokesperson said the airline has zero tolerance for disruptive behaviour and prioritises the safety of passengers and crew at all times, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
