Pakistan has dispatched 200 tons of humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka via sea cargo to support relief efforts following the devastating impact of Cyclone Ditwah.

The aid package includes essential supplies aimed at alleviating the suffering of thousands affected by the natural disaster.

A send-off ceremony was held in Islamabad to mark this significant humanitarian mission. The event was graced by Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance, and Rear Admiral (Rtd) Fred Senevirathne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, said the Pakistan Foreign Ministry on X.

Senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) were also in attendance, underscoring the importance of this initiative.

The dispatch symbolizes not just aid, but a deep bond of friendship and regional cooperation between the two nations.

As Cyclone Ditwah leaves a trail of destruction across Sri Lanka, this assistance is expected to play a crucial role in ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.
