
The Government and people of Pakistan have expressed their deepest solidarity with Sri Lanka amid the ongoing severe weather crisis caused by cyclonic conditions and unprecedented heavy rainfall affecting large parts of the country.
In a condolence message, Major General (Retd) Faheem-ul-Aziz, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and conveyed sympathies to the thousands displaced by the disaster.
The High Commissioner also praised Sri Lankan authorities for their swift and coordinated response in rescue and relief operations, highlighting their proactive efforts to manage the crisis.
Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to the long-standing friendship between the two nations, based on mutual respect and shared history, and pledged continued support to Sri Lanka during this challenging time.
“Pakistan believes that Sri Lanka is a resilient nation and will surely find the strength and courage to overcome this tragedy,” the High Commissioner said.
