Over 62,000 tourists arrive in SL in first 12 days of October

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has announced that 62,741 tourists arrived in the country during the first 12 days of October.

According to the SLTDA, 18,299 tourists came from India, accounting for 29.2% of arrivals. Other visitors included 5,417 from China, 4,874 from the United Kingdom, 3,804 from Germany, and 2,954 from Australia.

With the latest figures for October, the total number of tourists visiting Sri Lanka in 2025 has risen to 1,788,235. Among these, 292,633 are from India, 166,767 from the UK, 125,035 from Russia, 110,792 from Germany, and 107,007 from China.

In September 2025, 158,971 foreign nationals visited Sri Lanka, marking a 30.2% increase compared to September 2024.
