Opposition MP Ajith P. Perera said the Ministry of Cultural Affairs has failed to prepare a proper timetable outlining the auspicious times for traditional activities associated with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Addressing a media briefing today, the MP said that although some members of the government may not follow auspicious times, the majority of people in Sri Lanka still observe these traditions.
He stressed that it is therefore essential for the authorities to provide a proper timetable for rituals and customs connected with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations.
