
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton unveiled the nuclear policy model, which showed his plan was $264 billion less than Labour’s renewables scheme.
The Coalition has released details of its long-term nuclear policy as modeling revealed the opposition’s diversified energy mix would cost $264 billion less than Labour’s renewables-only plan.
According to analysis by Frontier Economics, the cost of the opposition’s nuclear plan is reported to be $331 billion, compared to Labour’s $595 billion renewables-only policy.
At a press conference in Brisbane on Friday, Mr Dutton said it would help decarbonise the economy while making nuclear power cheaper and more reliable.
The opposition’s plan to reach net zero by 2050 includes 54 percent from renewable energy, 38 percent from nuclear power and 8 percent from storage and gas.
The Albanian government is reported to have plans for 94 percent renewable energy and the rest for gas and storage.
