Opposition leader calls urgent meeting of opposition parties over Middle East crisis

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has convened an urgent meeting of all opposition party leaders and Members of Parliament to discuss the escalating conflict in the Middle East, the Opposition Leader’s office said today.

The emergency session is scheduled to take place tomorrow, March 3, at the Opposition Leader’s office within the Parliamentary Complex.

The primary focus of the meeting will be the safety and well-being of Sri Lankans currently working in the affected region. The discussion will also examine the potential economic and social impacts the crisis could have on Sri Lanka in the near future.

The opposition group is expected to formulate recommendations and formally advise the government on the necessary steps to address the evolving situation.
