One in four victorian households to receive $100 power bill discount

Applications for the next round of Victoria’s Power Saving Bonus will open on August 25.

Approximately 900,000 Victorian households holding concession cards will be eligible to receive a $100 discount on their energy bill.

Eligible residents can apply through the Victorian Energy Compare (VEC) website or by visiting their local Neighbourhood House.

A recent home electricity bill is required to complete the application process.

Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio said the initiative aims to ease the burden of rising energy costs for vulnerable households.

“This will take $100 off that bill and keep that $100 in your pocket, not out the door to an energy company,” she said.

Eligible concession cards include health care cards, pension concession cards, veterans’ affairs pensioner concession cards, and veterans’ affairs gold cards.

The Power Saving Bonus is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support households facing cost-of-living pressures.
