One Direction has turned down an offer to reunite at the Brit Awards to honor their late bandmate Liam Payne.
According to The Sun, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik were approached for a tribute performance but decided it would be too emotional.
A source close to the band explained that they have grieved privately and didn’t feel the need for a public tribute.
The decision may disappoint fans hoping for a reunion, but insiders say the timing isn’t right. “Zayn lives in America now, and they are all in different places in life. A reunion is not on the cards,” the source added.
One Direction last performed together in 2015 before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
Since then, all members have pursued solo careers.
Payne, who also released solo music, tragically passed away in October 2024 at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Although the band won’t reunite, Brit Awards host Jack Whitehall is set to pay a heartfelt tribute to Payne during the ceremony on 1st of March .
The music industry and fans continue to mourn his loss, honoring his legacy with One Direction.
