Millions of Australians are set to enjoy a long weekend as two major public holidays fall on the same day.

For residents in South Australia, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory, it’s Labour Day, while Queenslanders will mark the King’s Birthday public holiday.

With celebrations underway, many shoppers are wondering which major retailers will be open. Here’s a quick guide to trading hours across the states:

Coles
All stores in NSW, ACT, and QLD will operate as normal.
In SA, most stores will be closed except for select outlets in Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Berri, Port Augusta, Mount Barker, Adelaide Rundle Place, Whyalla, Murray Bridge Green, Mount Gambier, and Victor Harbor.
Customers can check the full list of opening hours on Coles’ website.

Aldi
Store hours will vary depending on location and state.
Shoppers are encouraged to check individual store hours online.

Woolworths
All stores will open as usual, except for a few locations in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Full trading details are available on the Woolworths website.

Liquorland
Stores in public holiday states will trade on reduced hours, and some Queensland stores will close for the day.
Updated trading hours are listed on Liquorland’s website.

Dan Murphy’s and BWS
Most Dan Murphy’s stores will open from 10am to 7pm, while BWS stores will trade from 9am to around 7–8pm, depending on location.
Shoppers can confirm hours online.

Bunnings
All Bunnings stores will be open throughout the October long weekend.
In states with a public holiday, most outlets will trade from 7am to 7pm.
Customers are advised to check their local store’s hours via the Bunnings website or app, as times may vary.
