Novak Djokovic takes down Jannik Sinner to reach Australian open final

Novak Djokovic has defied the odds to secure his spot in the 2026 Australian Open Men’s Singles Final, in a clash of generations that had tennis fans worldwide on the edge of their seats.

The 38-year-old Serbian star produced a stunning comeback, defeating defending champion and World No. 2 Jannik Sinner in a grueling five-set battle at Rod Laver Arena.

Djokovic fought back from a two-set deficit to overcome Sinner, who had won their last five meetings, showcasing the veteran’s tactical brilliance and resilience. The final score was 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

This win marks Djokovic’s 11th Australian Open final appearance, extending his own record at the tournament where he has already claimed ten titles. With the victory, Djokovic moves closer to a historic 25th Grand Slam title.

In the final on Sunday (February 1), Djokovic will face Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, who reached his first Melbourne final after defeating Alexander Zverev in another epic five-set semi-final.
