Melbourne has seen a rise in accidents linked to the use of illegal fireworks during New Year celebrations.

Three separate fires have been reported in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, all attributed to illegal fireworks.

The fires were specifically reported in the areas of Kurunjang, Glenroy, and Greenvale.

These incidents highlight the dangers associated with the illegal use of fireworks, which has led to multiple accidents across the city.

Victoria Police have also made significant finds, discovering 18 weapons in possession of individuals involved in these activities.
