
Digital entry passes for tourist attractions and measures to expedite tourist visa processing were among the key topics discussed at a meeting held yesterday morning at the Presidential Secretariat, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
The meeting also focused on improving domestic air services for the convenience of tourists, resolving operational challenges, and launching bus services connecting Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with major tourist destinations.
Officials reviewed progress on the ongoing cleaning and maintenance work at Beira Lake and discussed plans to utilize circuit bungalows owned by the Mahaweli Authority and the Irrigation Department to support and promote the tourism sector.
The meeting further addressed the role of the tourist police in resolving issues faced by visitors, the PMD added.
