The Sri Lankan government has issued an Extraordinary Gazette to enforce new regulations on medicine pricing.
The notification, signed by Minister of Health Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, grants the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) the power to revise maximum retail prices twice a year.
Additionally, the NMRA can adjust prices at any time in response to major fluctuations in the dollar’s value, ensuring continued access to affordable medicines for the public.
